![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have been a very enthusiastic fan of Penelope Fitzgerald’s novels for many years. Here are members’ thoughts on the stories: In 2008 The Times listed her as one of ‘the 50 greatest British writers since 1945’ and her final novel, The Blue Flower (1995) was named by the Observer as one of the ‘ten best historical novels’. Born in 1916, she was one of the first students at Oxford and won the Booker Prize in 1979 for Offshore. It was published in 2000, the year Fitzgerald died.
